This is a hard-to-find vintage figurine set from the 1930s- 1940s made of Syroco. There are slightly different and a bit more rare than the most common found pair online holding umbrellas.
These figurines, often referred to as "Syroco wood," were created from a molded mixture of wood pulp and other materials, giving them the appearance of being hand-carved. the men and women are approximately 3 inches tall each.
Syroco figurines were produced by the Syracuse Ornamental Company in Syracuse, New York
